My Photographic Experience:
This is the page where you get to know me as a photographer and a person. Seeing as this is a portfolio site, lets get down to the nitty gritty of my photography experience first. I have about ten years of photographic experience under my belt. I started in sports and action photography when I was nine years old, and have pretty consistently had a job in that field ever since then. I have worked for Zazoosh, and currently work for Revel, a running and biking event company. I also work a once a year job shooting portraits and action shots for a national marching band competition in St. George Utah. Additionally I took sports photos and yearbook photos for my high school, American Heritage. Many of which were published in fliers, posters, websites, and of course, yearbooks. I took all the photography classes my high schools offered which consists of: Two intensive week-long classes about landscape and basic shooting from Samuel Wood (who is a true legend). One intensive week-long portrait class from UVU professor Carolee Beckham, during which Kent Miles came and gave a lecture and we took a trip to the studio of Justin Hackworth. I also took a regular curricular class from Andrew Branch about, again, the basics of photography and many areas of shooting. As far as college goes, I have completed two black and white film based classes and yet another introduction to photography class from Rheana Gardner, a professor at SUU, as well as a photojournalism class from Professor Jon Smith.
In addition to those classes and jobs, I have shot student portraits and a couple weddings. I also have won awards at local competitions as well as the Utah State fair. Besides that, I just shoot when I can and where I can. I catch every car show humanly possible, and I take every weekend I get to go shooting. For the last five or six years I have been shooting whatever I can get my hands on. From car shows, to drives up the canyon, I bring my camera along for the ride. The label "Message Man Photography" is loose, but it is what I use if people want a business card. I just liked that more than Jackson Graham Photography. But I digress...
About Little Ole Me:
If you have been to the front page or the "At a Glace" page of this website, you already know my name is Jackson Graham and I am twenty years old. I am currently enrolled at Southern Utah University, near St. George Utah. My parents however, are out in Tennessee so I am always driving or flying across the country to see them. I am a freshman in college, on my third semester, and graduated high school in 2019. I went to American Heritage School and Liahona Preparatory Academy, a couple of private high schools down in Utah Valley. I have the most incredible girlfriend in the entire world, and she is a huge part of my work. I have worked many jobs, from Lot Tech at Ken Garff Ford, to the front desk at the Southern Utah Museum of Art. Photography is my passion, and hobby, but I also love cars. (if you couldn't tell from my portraits) I cherish my 1996 Land Rover Discovery. I am always looking for an off-roading trail, river, or local ditch to get my car stuck in. I love music, and although I stick to my 50's - 80's Rock and Roll guns, I love most types of music. I am always a fan of any good song. I am a huge fan of Elvis Presley, Mates of State, Paramore, Electric Light Orchestra, and the Beatles. I am always making a new mix tape or discovering a new artist, so naturally Nashville Tennessee is the place for me. I also love going to the amazing Disney Theme parks. I frequent Disneyland California (budget permitting), but I have made it out to Walt Disney World in Florida a few times. I love the principles the parks were built on, and how gorgeous they are in every detail. My favorite pastime is to go and spend late nights capturing photos when everyone has left, and the park is quiet and dark. I enjoy going to the parks with my family and friends, and always look forward to my next trip. I am an American patriot to the bone, and will always stand for the flag. America is such a beautiful and blessed land, and I fall in love with it a little more every time I make the trip to Tennessee or to Utah. I have all other sorts of hobbies, like collecting Hotwheels (you know I'm takin' those things right out the box), playing video games, and other teenager stuff.
I really do love what I do, and I sincerely hope you like what I have here. If you want pictures, or want to contact me about prints and all that, shoot me a text or email on the "contact" page. Thanks for looking at this little site in the corner of the internet.
